I don’t really now what to type. I see posts from all my friends almost daily of these great blog posts. I see inspiring words and thoughts. I see the dreams and ambitions of people younger (and older) than me. Dreams and Ambitions much bigger than mine. Things they will probably accomplish.
I like blogging but can only do it in times like these. When I have no “real” words or directed thoughts. Just a need to type things out. Probably why I post so little.
The other day was MLK day. It made me think of his famous speech “I have a dream”. It made me think about if I have any dreams. I decided that I do. However, dreams that others may not consider great. However, some thought MLK’s dreams were also not great.
I am not gonna tell you all my dreams. I am gonna ask you to think about yours. If we didn’t dream our dreams. Then our passions and lives would be dull. We would have no hope of moving forward or ever getting to do the things we like.
“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” – Harriet Tubman
My point of this post is to help you to realize that your dreams ARE possible.
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney
As a young girl I dreamed of the day I could have my own dog. If I had given up on that dream. My life would have lost a lot of its valuable parts. I would not know MANY of the amazing people I know. I would not have the amazing dogs I call my best friends. I would not be doing agility.
I then had a dream of a day I would go out and win things. I would be known by all and make a living doing it. But would that dream make me truly happy? Would it make my life worth something? Sometimes dreams are okay to move on from.
My dreams now have more to do with living life than goals of winning things or being popular. I dream to be a better person. To lift people up not take them down. To have hope not despair. To have courage not fear. To have joy not pain. And to inspire others to do the same.
Life could end tomorrow. Live your life dreaming your dreams to the fullest extent. For your passion for life will make your dreams a reality.
“Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life – well, valuable, but small – and sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven’t been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn’t it be the other way around? I don’t really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void. ” – Kathleen Kelly in You’ve Got Mail
